The Story of Jasmine
An idea was kicking around about the same time as content was being written for the new 442Football Website, and so a plan was put into action to have a little fun with the world of romance. Well, a little site called FaceParty actually. We decided to create a person. An imaginary person that is, with the sole intention of seeing who might respond to someone they didn't know - hell couldn't know - and what we might encounter. Oh, and we wanted to be having a laugh of course! We didn't make it too easy, no rudeness, no revealing pictures, and no replies to anyone.
So here's what happened.
My henchperson, the amazing Dr. Evil X, set up the bogus account and filled out the details; a young, pretty female with an open mind and who likes having fun. All the essentials really. ;)
The Messages Due to having stuff to do and being busy, no pictures of the phantom girl were posted for the first two weeks. Although that didn't stop people who were eager to meet our Jasmine anyway. These first two were both received on 16.01.06, two full weeks before any of the pictures were added. We could have looked like a right minging toad, but the bold get the early worm, or something. First up was mrg190581, who describes himself as 24, tall, handsome and looking for fun. Hi there how are you? We're all fine, thanks. And such a considerate young man you are, asking after us, however briefly. Fun, you say? We can play dominoes anytime, tiger. ;) And tell me, that isn?t your date of birth in your username is it? Hasn't your Mother told you how dangerous that is! This one came before any pictures went online too. Some people were born sluts.. um I mean with much more enthusiastic personalities than others I guess. Such as 29 year old Stuart from Croydon. Subject: Foxy Hi sexy you sound fun and your fit. Where u from ??? If you want a pic tell me your e-mail or msn address!!! Im 6 foot 1 dark brown hair green eyes and fit you interested Stu x We're sexy and fit? How the hell do you know? No photo, no conversation. There are "services" for people like you. I hear mailorderbrides.com is alright. ;) To make the thing more authentic, I found a few suitable pictures on the net to finish that part of the plan. Just random ones. Oh, and what a difference it made! We had a few more replies immediately! |
